Team

A high performance team is built around maximizing the unique contribution of each of its members.
Many teams go wrong by replacing “unique” with “equal.”
Quantitatively equal contribution across a team is the downfall of performance.

This does not mean the impact or value of each contribution is not equal.
It does mean the team that endeavours to divide up the work perfectly equally will miss the value of having a team in the first place.
A team exists to bring diverse talents together to contribute towards a common goal.

As a leader, you need to divide the work based upon the talent.
The common pitfall is to do the opposite: divide the talent based upon the work.
The dynamic nature of your work will even out across your team’s collective contribution over time; getting there requires trust in maximizing short-term contribution.
