Effort

Perfection is the enemy of effort.
Your desire to do something without flaw will directly hinder your motivation to act.
You will routinely hesitate or find excuses (some sound really compelling!) rather than act.

This creates a paradox.
Without action, your ability to do something is unlikely to progress to anywhere near flawless ability.
This discrepancy comes down to a gap within your expectations.

You expect high performance.
This skips a necessary step: imperfect effort must first be exerted.
Over time, explicit effort yields performance.
