Everything
You cannot do everything.
But you can do a lot.
As a leader, discerning what exists within the realm of capacity and just shy of overwhelm is a skill.
Your brain’s ineffectiveness at estimating its capacity is the consistent barrier.
You naturally estimate poorly.
You also do not effectively correlate failure in estimation, and the ensuing overwhelm, with future estimations.
When working with your team, do not fall into the trap of everything.
If you are not actively making decisions that deprioritize something, then you are passively creating future overwhelm.
Create the conditions for performance through clarity, not overwhelm through committing to everything.
