Accountability
The fear of being labelled a “micro-manager” is pervasive amongst leaders.
So much so that the term “manager” is often incorrectly juxtaposed with “leader.”
Leadership is an amalgamation of both leader and manager skills.
Consider the greatest leader you have ever worked with.
There is likely at least one “manager” skill they demonstrated.
They held you accountable.
Accountability is more than having difficult conversations when things are missed.
