Urgency


There is work that is urgent.
There is also work that is important.
These terms are not mutually exclusive, but each creates a different emotional response.


The challenge with urgent work is its associated emotional-state.
A sense of urgency can unconsciously manifest as a mild (or greater) sense of panic.
Urgent work is not the problem; your prolonged exposure to panic-state is.


You manage hot coffee by sipping.
You manage urgent work through emotional regulation techniques.
Both actions are active and intentional.
