Turns

The most efficient way between point A and B is a straight line.
In work, defining and strictly adhering to a straight line rarely works out.
You inevitably encounter unforeseen turns.

Part of a leader's role is to, with the best of their abilities, define the straight line.
The other part is to navigate the turns without significant loss of momentum.
Overly focusing on the former creates greater displacement of momentum when the latter arises.

Relentlessly adhering to a straight line vision will encounter major barriers.
Constantly turning without seeing what the straight line path is aimed towards will take you in circles.
The skill a leader develops is to better assess when to press forward and when to turn.
