Restart

A common joke when technology malfunctions is to ask if you turned it off and back on again.
Despite the humour associated with the comment, it rings true for step 1 in troubleshooting a technological process.
You can probably attest to more times than seems reasonable that a simple restart solved things.

Your brain is your biological computer.
A restart can come through sleep, tuning out, play, or even a perspective shift.
Instead of getting bogged down on how to restart, develop your ability to identify when to restart.

The challenge for most leaders is not proficiency in restarting, but awareness to know when to press the button.
The best way to develop that ability is create systems that challenge your default operating model of keeping things running.
Your calendar needs restarts, your computer needs restarts, and so does your team.
