Recognition

Caring about recognition is not a display of vanity. 
Being recognized, as the recipient, is the experience of being seen at your best.

Remember that the purpose is not so they feel special or are engaged to drive performance; these are byproducts. 
Recognition is the act of witnessing someone at their best and giving them the space to own their excellence.
