Placement


Binary logic causes you to consider many things in terms of fit (or lack thereof).
From roles to people to partnerships, you unconsciously seek the “right fit.”
When you have it, things are great; when it is missing, not so much.


The problem with fit is it becomes an all-or-nothing evaluation.
Placement offers a greater contextual variability.
The placement of something or someone exists amongst a broader ecosystem.


Fit fundamentally triggers right or wrong thinking.
Placement takes into consideration contribution amidst other variables.
Placement increases your chances to pivot and experiment.


Perhaps someone on the team is not the right fit.
It is also possible their placement requires attention.
This could be a new role, shifted responsibilities, or a reframing of strengths and contribution.


Perhaps someone on the team’s fit is meaningless.
It is possible your perspective is what needs to change.
