Logic
Humans operate within a heuristic model around being logical.
No one walks around actively thinking their perspective is completely illogical.
Doing so would create an untenable level of cognitive dissonance, and the brain would seek to resolve it.
Therein lies the problem: you are not inherently logical.
However, you are brilliant at pattern recognition.
You find magical connections which “logically” explain positive patterns.
Logic and pattern recognition are separate things.
Sometimes, these pattern-based explanations are accurate.
Often, they are more correlation than causation.
Leveraging data for a decision can create the illusion of a purely logical conclusion.
As a leader, watch for pattern recognition demonstrating correlation that is sold as causation.
