Halfway

Halfway is an important cognitive concept when it comes to behaviour change and resilience.
“Halfway there,” signifies that there will be equal energetic output between finishing and turning back.
It also presents an opportunity to pause and reflect around whether you are actually halfway.

The challenge with being halfway is the work completed rarely feels as daunting as the work remaining.
It is challenging for your brain to equate the necessary energy to finish with the energy already expended.
This is why the latter half feels harder: it may require the same total energy, but you are pulling from a net-lower overall reserve.

Before you reach halfway, how can you prepare your mind for the switch?
Often, halfway comes and goes without acknowledgement, leaving you simultaneously losing momentum and time.
Take the time to reset and refocus before halfway comes.

Do not delay the thinking you need to do now, to refocus in a month, until September.
