Concept
Ideas and concepts, linguistically, can be leveraged synonymously.
To draw a distinction, an idea can be seen as higher level and more abstract.
A concept brings a slightly more tangible component with a level of direction or a defined perspective.
This is an important distinction for leaders.
You play in the realm of ideas and concepts constantly.
You also navigate work that is underperforming or mired in lack of clarity nearly as frequently.
Where are you combining giving or soliciting ideas and concepts?
You might be sharing ideas when concepts are needed.
You also might be taking an idea into concept before others have wrapped their mind around the idea.
Maybe you need to develop your ability in negotiation, influence, or executive communication.
Equally, you simply may need to define whether an idea or concept is the effective approach.
Next time one approach flops, rather than starting over, try the other.
