Relaxed


In Jiu-Jitsu, the key to navigating challenging situations is to remain relaxed.

This is a simple, straight-forward concept.

Simple enough, that is, until you find yourself in a chokehold.

 

If you grip a baseball too tightly, you cannot throw it.

If you keep your weight in your arms while rock-climbing, you will fall.

If you squeeze a golf club too firmly, the ball will go awry.

 

Tension cultivates performance and growth.

Relaxation, by definition, is the state of being free from tension.

Thoughtful leadership is the ability to remain relaxed in a state of tension.
