Logic

Your mind prefers binary logic.
Binary logic is viewing something in terms of dual, mutually-exclusive decisions.
It is yes or no, good or bad, and hot or cold.

Binary logic is relatively less taxing cognitively.
While the decision still feels challenging, it is infinitely easier than navigating multiple variables.
In times of stress, crisis, or significant cognitive load, you unconsciously leverage binary logic.

Making a decision whether to be open or closed is not easy.
Making a decision around how to be some never-before-experienced open-closed-hybrid is cognitively immense.
Doing so amidst a myriad of other limiting factors is unprecedented.

Catch yourself falling into binary logic, especially when cognitive load is high.
More importantly, remember that those around you are navigating the same pitfalls.
Thoughtful leaders enable others to pivot their perspectives and see broadly.

One binary decision worth leveraging: to be compassionate or not.
Choose the former.
This is good logic.
