Founders

A founder is someone who establishes something.

It could be a way of thinking, an organization, or a coffee club for cats.

Great leaders understand that, in some capacity, they are a founder.

A saviour is someone who saves something from danger.

When times become challenging, the pressure to be a saviour rises.

Society has inundated leaders with a romance of being the saviour.

The problem with being a saviour is that responsibility is no longer shared.

Saviour mentality rests on a presupposition: no one else can do this thing.

Founders remember that their job is not to do the thing.

Founders establish the means by which a thing can be done, and share responsibility.

Great leaders spend their time establishing rather than saving.

Coffee is better when savoured than it is as a saviour,
