Completion
The difference between a squiggly line and a shape is completion.
A squiggly line continues on, or stops, without any rationale.
A shape, like a circle, has a defined completion.
Your brain craves completion.
Sometimes staying with the line through completion takes substantially more effort than expected.
Your brain also craves to minimize effort.
This is why you will dogmatically pursue one goal while discarding seemingly equal endeavours.
Your life is an amalgamation of run-on and cut-off squiggly lines alongside some circles.
When you find yourself pursuing a line, define and continually evaluate if it is becoming a circle or a squiggle.
Not every line must be a circle, and not all squiggles are a waste.
Knowing what completion looks like is important.
When you complete the circle, you create the capacity for a new line to begin.
